In 2004, a small group of young economists and businesspeople in Palestine established the Young Entrepreneurs of Palestine (YEP) Association with the mission to promote the modern economic development of Palestine based on a philosophy of entrepreneurship.
YEP association is engaging Palestine’s business community in a constructive dialogue with policy makers, providing key information on barriers to doing business as well as policy recommendations.
YEP association works with intellectuals and civil society leaders to build functional democratic governance in Palestine and attempts to develop the production capacity of the Palestinian economy by increasing the number of enterprises and creating new jobs. The small enterprise and entrepreneurship development is a viable area for development as it requires lesser government interface. YEP association provides a good room for the civil society interventions to do their bit jointly in helping small business and entrepreneurship to grow.
Moreover, YEP association is well-positioned to influence the Palestinian Authority's policy and legislation in regards to support and encouragement of young entrepreneurs, which stand to play a crucial role in the development of the Palestinian economy.
Last word, YEP association jointly with other Palestinian partners seek to build available Palestinian economy that can independently survive will less donor funding, while continue to face numerous challenges caused by the Israeli occupation. |
