Networking is an essential skill for most business people, but mostly required for Palestinian young entrepreneurs at this point of time. The strong relation between the entrepreneur as a person and his or her business, demands that entrepreneurs get out into the world and create and maintain business relationships. One entrepreneur cannot do much to influence economic development in Palestine, but a network of successful young motivated entrepreneurs can do a lot together in all aspects of the Palestinian life.
Networking is the process of meeting people and building relationships that can benefit all those involved. It enables you to establish a relationship with people you have never met, or improve your existing relationships, who would otherwise not be aware of your business. It enables you to market your self and your business directly to people who, in turn, may refer other customers to you. At the same time, it enables you to share ideas, information and experience.
Young Entrepreneurs – Palestine YEP is investing its time and effort to create a healthy business atmosphere through building a wider base of networking and linkages among young entrepreneurs. YEP deploys several activities related to networking and business linkages in order to provide comprehensive list of services to young entrepreneurs. YEP conducts training courses, workshops, and seminars concerning this issue. In addition to this YEP provides the opportunity to exchange the information among its members through the monthly meetings.
Moreover, through the entrepreneurs network, a lot of problems that face the Palestinian entrepreneurs can be solved very quickly. This network has direct access to government bodies, especially when it comes to trade facilitation inside and outside the Palestinian territories.
Why should you network?
1- Learning from others.
Networking gives you the opportunity to learn from others. When you network you are likely to meet people from different backgrounds with different experiences. They may have struggled with the same challenges that you are struggling with now and have found creative ways of addressing these challenges.
2- Exposure to new ideas.
Without coming into contact with people from different backgrounds your exposures to new ideas may be limited. Actively explore new ideas with other people that you meet.
3- Potential Business
Every person that you meet should be regarded as a potential customer and a partner.
4- Referral.
A referral is when someone tells a friend or a business associate to do business with you because they have confidence that you can do the job well.
